If you are not truthful with one of the members of the site, then more than likely they will spread the word to other people on the website.

When you find a person that you are interested in, it is best to say hello through an email. There are many online dating sites that allow you to send a smile or a flirt notification, but an email will be more personal. Make sure to mention parts of their profile that caught your attention. It will prove to them that you actually took the time to read their profile. Once you have a means of communication with the person, try not to bombard them with questions. This will only put them off. Let the questions flow with the conversation. You might be able to learn information without having to ask questions. Most people enjoy talking about themselves, and as long as you are a good listener you should be able to learn about them easily.

Avoid talking to another person about politics or religion. This will only put your date on the defensive. If these topics are important to whom you want to date, then hold off about the questions until you know the person very well or have met them in person. There are some sites that have singles who are interested in the same religion or political field. This will save some of the tense and uncomfortable conversation. You should also avoid using capital letters or abbreviated comments. All capitals will come across as shouting and abbreviated sentences will be hard to understand.
