If you have finally met someone with whom you are compatible, then you should consider yourself to be very lucky. It takes many people years to find that special someone. If you both consider going to another place after meeting, then drive separate cars.

Until you know the person very well, do not agree to a date that requires hiking or going to any remote place. It would be best to have a short initial meeting. If, after meeting the person, you are sure that you will not want to see them again, then a short coffee date will not be as painful as a long date. If you are sure that you would not wish to meet again, then be honest at the end of the date when they ask for a second meeting. The last thing to consider is that if you are traveling a long distance to meet the person, do not give them the name of your hotel. Just in case the person follows you back to your hotel without your knowledge, you can ask the hotel staff to not reveal to anyone that you are staying there.
